Since 2021, all European identity cards must contain the fingerprints of 2 (index) fingers.
This means that you must appear in person at the Embassy to have your fingerprints taken. This obligation applies to the electronic identity card (e-ID) and the Kids-ID if your child is 6 years or older.
Mind, you can only apply for an identity card at the Embassy in Yerevan if you are registered in the population registers of the Embassy. Follow the procedure to register.

- eID: electronic identity card for adults and children over 12 years of age (more information);
- Kids ID: electronic identity card for children under 12 years of age (more information).
It normally takes 4 to 8 weeks to get a new identity card.
In case of loss or theft
- Immediately notify DocStop in Belgium (+32 2 518 21 23) to cancel your eID and protect you from fraudulent use.
- Report the loss or theft to the local police. Request a certificate confirming the loss or theft.
- Start an application for a new eID. You will need the loss or theft certificate from the police for this application. Belgians registered in the population registers of the embassy in Yerevan can apply for an eID at the consular department.
