You can complete and print the online visa application form on Visa On Web. You can then submit this signed visa application, accompanied by the supporting documents, to the Embassy of Belgium in Yerevan.

ATTENTION: short-stay visas for Belgium, including those for tourist visits and short professional visits, as well as regular multiple-entry Schengen visas, continue to be processed by the German Embassy in Yerevan.  

Submitting the application is done via the eAppointment system on this website. You must specify the reason for your appointment and select an available time slot. You will then receive an automatic confirmation of your appointment directly via e-mail.

In accordance with the Visa Code, applications must be submitted no more than 6 months and no less than 15 days before the intended departure.

Our Embassy in Yerevan is authorized to process long-stay visa applications from Armenians and persons holding a temporary and permanent residence permit, or a long-stay visa for Armenia.

The German Embassy in Yerevan is responsible for short-stay / Schengen visa applications, with the exception of medical, return and diplomatic/service passports. Please contact the German Embassy or refer to its website for information regarding the procedure to follow and the documents to be submitted for most short-stay visas (excluding the 3 exceptions mentioned in this paragraph, for which the Embassy of Belgium remains competent).

Questions regarding visas will only be answered by email and can be sent to yerevan.visa@diplobel.fed.be.

It is essential that you enter a correct telephone number and email address on your visa application form. After all, the embassy must be able to reach you if necessary.
 

There are two different fees you must pay to submit your visa application: A visa contribution fee, which covers the price of the visa and must be paid directly to the Belgian Ministry of the Interior prior to submitting your visa application, and a visa handling fee, which covers the administrative costs of processing the visa, and which must be paid to the Embassy upon submission of your visa application.

The price of the visa (= contribution fee) varies and depends on the visa type. The exchange rate is determined by the Public Federal Service Foreign Affairs in Belgium and may fluctuate. This rate is subject to change without notice. Please note that the contribution fee is non-refundable.

The handling fee must be paid by bank transfer upon submitting the physical file of the visa application at the Embassy. Attention, any bank charges or charges related to the transfer will need to be borne by the applicant or whomever performs the transfer.

For a long-stay visa (D), the handling fee amounts to 250 EUR as of 1 July 2026 (and 180 EUR before that date). As stated, an additional contribution fee is required for the processing of certain Long Stay visa-D applications, in which case you will be requested to submit a proof of payment of this additional contribution fee as a part of your visa application. If you are unable to do so at the time of the submission of your application, the application will be considered inadmissible.

In case the applicant is exempt from paying the handling fee, he or she is not automatically exempted from paying the additional contribution. The contribution will likewise not be reimbursed in the event of a refusal of the visa.

In certain cases, exceptions apply to the standard rates of 250 euros for a D visa. You can read all relevant information regarding this on the website of the Immigration Office.
 

You can complete the online visa application form by creating a profile on Visa On Web and stay informed about the relevant procedures on the Immigration Office website, the only competent authority for the admittance, stay, residence and removal of foreigners.

The medical certificate that must be attached to an application for a "long-stay" visa or a "medical care" visa must be issued by a recognized doctor approved by the Embassy. Any other medical certificate will be refused.

Submit a complete file. Read attentively the information about the necessary documents to be provided before submitting your file. If the Consulate needs to ask for additional documents before being able to take a decision or before sending your file to the Immigration Office in Belgium, you might not receive your visa on time.

Biometric collection (fingerprints and photo) is mandatory for all applicants over the age of 12.

All Schengen visa applicants (except children under 12) will be required to present themselves in person to have their 10 fingerprints and photo taken. These data will be retained in the VIS for 5 years. The fingerprinting procedure takes only a few minutes and definitively identifies you as the sole holder of the visa. By taking your fingerprints you can be identified with certainty as the sole holder of the visa which enhances security for everyone, including the visa applicant. This protects you against forgery or misuse of identity - for example in the event of theft or loss of your passport – and facilitates checks at external borders.

The extract from the criminal record can only be obtained through the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.

Official Armenian documents must be legalized by apostille, which can be obtained from the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Once apostilled, the document is ready for use by the Belgian authorities and no longer needs to be legalized by the Embassy.

Official documents supporting any visa application which are not originally drafted in Dutch, French, German or English must be translated into one of these languages by an qualified translator recognised by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia. When the file is submitted to the Immigration Office, the Embassy will provide you with your file reference number. From this moment on, the Immigration Office is the sole point of contact for monitoring the status of your visa application. You can follow the status/evolution and information on the average processing time per category of visa application of your application with the Track your application App on the website of the Immigration Office. The Belgian Embassy will inform you personally once a decision has been taken.
 

In case of refusal, the applicant will be notified in writing about the reasons for this refusal.

The refusal letter will be written in Dutch, French or German, depending on the language preference given at the time of application.

As the refusal decision has not been taken by the Embassy or Consulate General but by the Belgian immigration authorities, the Embassy or Consulate General is not authorized to comment on this refusal by any means (at the counter, by telephone or in writing).

Following a refusal:

• The applicant can decide to lodge an appeal with the Belgian judicial authorities, as explained in the refusal The Embassy will under no circumstances intervene in this procedure.
• Or the applicant can submit a completely new application (following the standard procedure), taking into account the refusal and ensuring that additional documents are submitted. There is no waiting period for submitting a new application. The new application will be submitted to the Immigration Office for a decision.
   

Blood tests in the context of a DNA procedure (for the purpose of family reunification) are taken ONLY by appointment. Such appointments must be requested by email at the following email address: yerevan.visa@diplobel.fed.be. The related person in Belgium must have paid the analysis costs to the Immigration Office, which grants its approval before the blood test is actually performed.
